KEEPing Those New Year’s Resolutions Past January!
5 Sure Fire Ways to be successful with KEEPing your New Year’s Resolutions past January!
Step 1: What do you really want?
Most often, New Year’s Resolutions are either a. never made or b. made on a whim. Spend some time really thinking about what it is you want. Simplicity? Good Health? Organization? Be specific!
Step 2: Get your mind right!
Do you really believe you can achieve? Are you committed to following the goal through to the end? Are you willing to change those behaviors?
Step 3: Break it Down into Steps!
You do not have to start everything the first day. Don’t be afraid to create the entire plan, but break it down into steps. Roll out the to-do’s, behavior changes, and tasks over a period of weeks or months if needed. The goal is to make progress and not overwhelm yourself.
Step 4: Plan, Plan, and Plan Some More!
This step is the hardest step and most people fail to spend the needed time really putting together a plan. One of the worst things you can do is not plan. Find a quiet place to hide and spend the needed time mapping out your strategy and plan for any obstacles.
Step 5: Have an Accountability Partner
A friend who will tell you it is always ok will not work. Find something who will kick you in the butt…when you need a gentle kick!
